Leadership Development
"Our emphasis is on following and not on leading."
Who said that? Nobody yet. But, someone should. I think it was General Patton who said, "No one can lead others until they learn to lead themselves." But, our country is still not in the business of growing leaders. We need to put our emphasis on doing things and having our young people do things that require critical judgment instead of teaching them to take orders blindly and follow. People complain that this or that leader is inept or incompetent but they do not take the responsibility for having installed that leader or having allowed such a disappointment of a person to gain such a position or to continue in that position.
