Drew Kopf as Golfer:

Golf - as of Summer 2015

I have one "rule", if you want to call it a rule, if you would like to play golf together with me: "No showing off". (That was my father's phrase that he would use when we played together and were paired up with people we didn't know. I still think it's a good ice breaker at the start of a round of golf like that when even good players can be expectatious if not down right nervous).

I moved to New York City a few years ago and have had golf on the back burner pretty much until this Spring when Hank and I made Tuesday our new 9-hole early morning golf round and I invited Ron, who I had met the season before when I was playing a round of 9 holes at Dix Hills Park Golf Course and he and I got paired up just by the luck of the draw. Then, at the Mid-Island Y-JCC I met Barry, who is a retired archirect who had recently relocated to the Plainview area and I invited him to join us to see if he might not enjoy golfing with us.

So far, as I write this note, we were plagued by rain at the begining of the season and just a a few rounds. Now, we have had a little more regularity, except for some vacation get aways and some more rain. The four men seem to be hitting 'em well and our breakfast afterwards, though only attend by Hank, Barry and Drew since Ron most be off to work sooner, are another good reason for showing up at all.
